EDMOND — Edmond resident receives SkillsUSA award

Chelsea Eichler of Edmond is one of the 15 SkillsUSA students who represented the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith receiving this year's Volunteer of the Year Award from the Celebrity Classic, the multi-day event which annually raises thousands of dollars for local charities.

Charities receiving support from the Celebrity Classic include Make-A-Wish Foundation, Donald W. Reynolds Cancer Support House, Gregory Kistler Treatment Center for Children, Good Samaritan Clinic, Making a Difference-One Kid at a Time, Bost Inc., Arkansas/Oklahoma Alzheimer’s Association and Helping Hands for Children.



Local residents perform in Harding Homecoming musical

Among a full cast of actors, singers and musicians, Paige Edmison and Molly Brooks, both of Edmond, performed in the Homecoming musical, “Scrooge,” Oct. 30-31 at Harding University in Searcy, Ark.

Edmison, a junior music major, played the role of Mrs. Cratchit.

Brooks, a sophomore communication science and disorders and Spanish double major, performed in the ensemble.



Local student in Otterbein Theatre production

Kolby Kindle, son of Eldridge and Theresa Kindle of Edmond, is appearing in Otterbein University’s fall production of “Babes in Arms.” Kindle, a graduate of Edmond North High School, is a senior musical theater major at Otterbein.



OLLi is at OU

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Oklahoma promotes educational enrichment and personal growth of mature learners through a variety of noncredit courses.

Individuals age 50+ who are intellectually curious and who love to learn are encouraged to sign up. Membership is $35 a year and includes an OLLI at OU ID card, a parking tag to use during OLLI at OU courses and a regularly published OLLI at OU newsletter.
