Several UCO students among Miss Mid-Del contestants

OKLAHOMA CITY Eleven contestants will compete for more than $3,000 in cash scholarships, tuition waivers and gifts during the first Miss Mid-Del Scholarship Pageant at 7 p.m. Saturday at Del City High School. The winner will represent Midwest City and Del City at the June 2010 Miss Oklahoma/America Pageant.

Contestants are: Brittany Bisel, Oklahoma City University freshman journalism major from Okeene; Kylie Canaday, University of Central Oklahoma junior criminal justice major from Spencer; Ashley Dodd, University of Oklahoma junior energy management major from Roswell, Georgia; Ashley Edwards, University of Central Oklahoma senior dance major from Oklahoma City; Ostyn Glover, University of Oklahoma College of Nursing junior from Lawton; Jennifer Hancock, Oklahoma City University graduate student business administration major from Oklahoma City; Tiffany Legg, University of Oklahoma senior geology and mechanical engineering major from Duncan; Emily Northcutt, Oklahoma City University freshman music/business major from Oklahoma City; Carolyn O’Connor, Rose State College junior biology major from Tulsa; Chasity Ross, University of Central Oklahoma junior business major from Muskogee; and Veronica Wisniewski, Classen School of Advanced Studies College Prep High School senior from Oklahoma City.

The official franchise sponsor for the Miss Mid-Del Scholarship Pageant is the Oklahoma Lions. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $10 for the community and $5 for students with a valid ID. For more information, call Pageant Director Rick Woodard at 733-7999.

The Oklahoma Lions is a nonprofit organization that solicits, accepts and distributes financial support for the Lions Boys Ranch, the Oklahoma Lions Eye Bank, a mobile health screening unit and many other community service projects.
