EDMOND —
Ron and Marie Carte of Edmond, Okla. will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren before leaving on a trip to Europe and a Mediterranean cruise to Italy, Greece, Turkey and Egypt.
Ron P. Carte and M. Marie Gann were married May 19, 1960 at the First Baptist Church in Siloam Spring, Ark.
Ron retired in June 2009 after 40 years of working in the finance and banking industry. Marie worked in real estate for 21 years before retiring in 2000. During their 50 years together, the couple has lived in Muskogee, Tulsa and Oklahoma City; and during the last 40 years they have called Edmond their home.
Ron and Marie treasure their three children and seven grandchildren, all of whom live in Edmond: Tony Carte and his wife Edwina and their children Crystal and Jake; Tawyna and her husband Armando Carro Jr. and their children Emily, Grant and Jeffrey; and Tammy and her husband Paul Skinner and their children, Brady Elizabeth and Creed.
Ron enjoys golf and sports and Marie enjoys flower gardening and art. They both enjoy watching ball games, but most of all they enjoy being with their seven grandchildren and attending the many activities in which the children are involved.
Ron and Marie are members of Life Church and firmly believe that keeping God in their lives has contributed to the success and happiness of their marriage. Marie lovingly comments that Ron is a “very good man;” and Ron declares that Marie “is his lady.”
