EDMOND —
Jon and Judy Landis of Edmond, Okla. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday.
John Howard Landis and Judy Ann Gray were married June 30, 1961 at Crown Heights Christian Church in Oklahoma City, Okla. The couple met while riding the elevator at Rothchilds at Penn Square.
Jon, a 1956 graduate of NW Classen High School, attended Westminster College in Fulton, Mo., University of Oklahoma and University of Central Oklahoma. He is a member of SAE and currently works in real estate. He is a charter member of the Northwest Rotary Club.
Judy is a 1961 graduate of NW Classen High School and also attended the University of Oklahoma. She is a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City and is deeply honored to be “Nana” to six beautiful people: her grandchildren, Jonathan, Austin, Shelby, Tristan, Eric and Taylor.
Jon and Judy’s son Todd Landis and his wife Christi live in Edmond, and son Tim Landis and his wife Michelle live in Arcadia.
The death of their daughter, Leslie Lynne Landis, from MS in April 2010 deeply impacted the couple and their family.
“We celebrate our marriage every day by exchanging hugs and ‘I love you’s,’" Judy said. She feels strongly that expressing love and forgiveness are important factors in their 50 years of marriage.
