EDMOND —
Long-time Edmond residents Tom and Carmel Menasco Sr. will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 25, 2010.
Carmel Marie Maskonis and Thomas Floyd Menasco were high school sweethearts, but after graduation, they went their separate ways. Fate brought them back together in the fall of 1960 and they married on Nov. 25, 1960 in Poteau, Okla.
Tom retired from the State of Oklahoma in 1990. He is known as a “jack of all trades.” He enjoys vegetable gardening, fishing, camping, membership in the Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge and working with Shriner children.
Carmel has worked for Edmond Public Schools for more than 30 years as a bus driver for special needs children. She enjoys cooking, growing flowers, working in her vegetable garden and helping special needs children.
Tom and Carmel are blessed with five children: Judy and husband Curtis McCune of Colbert, Okla., Cheryl Jayne and husband Tim Aday of Garland, Texas, Charles Menasco of Edmond, Billy Menasco and wife Gina of Enid, Okla. and Tom Menasco Jr. and wife Beth of Edmond; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
