Wakefields to celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

EDMOND —     The family of John and Donna Wakefield will host a come-and-go reception and sock hop in honor of their parents and grandparents from 4 - 7 p.m. Saturday March 29 at the New Hope United Methodist Church, 11600 North Council Rd., Oklahoma City.

    John Gene Wakefield and Donna E. Mason were married March 27, 1954 in Minco, Okla.

    John and Donna began their lives together in Salina, Kan., while John served in the Air Force. After his service ended, John and Donna moved back to Oklahoma where John was employed by the Federal Aviation Administration, eventually retiring in the early 1980’s. Donna is a homemaker and retired from working in the public school systems in Oklahoma.

    They currently live in the Deer Creek area of Edmond where they ranch and farm.

    Hosting the reception will be their children and grandchildren. Their children are Robert and Maudean Wakefield of Edmond, Sandi and Jim Morgan of Edmond, Jerry and Ruth Ann Wakefield of Edmond, and Terry and Lisa Wakefield of Ardmore, Okla. Grandchildren are Shane and Heather Wakefield of Moore, Mickey Wakefield of Moore, Whitney Wakefield of Tulsa, Bryce Wakefield of Stillwater, Kali Wakefield of Edmond, Trevor Wakefield of Stillwater and Trent Wakefield of Ardmore.
