Students at Ida Freeman Elementary School sat spellbound as they listened to storyteller and entertainer Fran Stallings weave centennial stories about Oklahoma’s statehood throughout the day Wednesday.
A professional storyteller since 1978, Stallings was an Artist in Residence for the Oklahoma Arts Council from 1985-2001.
Her storytelling for the centennial includes folk tales, historical stories and music.
Stallings already has visited Northern Hills Elementary and is available for bookings as she travels, shares and entertains with stories about Oklahoma in honor of the centennial.
She conducts workshops, residencies and festival performances nationwide as well as in Japan and Egypt, and has just finished a storytelling book in collaboration with a Japanese storyteller.
