Throughout the past six months, much of the activity on Northwest 16th Street has centered on Lyric Theatre’s grand opening of the Plaza Theatre.
However, down the block at the Thelma Gaylord Academy, Director of Education Paul Gebb and Academy Administrator Robert Matson have been preparing their students for a new theatrical adventure of their very own.
One of the shows, “The Magical, Mystical Worlds of Stephen Schwartz,” will be performed by 31 students in grades six through eight.
In “Movies to Musicals,” 24 students in grades nine through 12 will perform a variety sketch revolving around the latest trend on Broadway — movies turned into musicals.
