7-3 Edmond students at Quartz Mountain

The Edmond Sun

Yang Qi, 18

• Edmond North High School

• Orchestra

Q: Why did you want to attend OSAI this year?

A: I think it's a great opportunity to meet with people who like music as well. Learning together is also another way to improve myself and making new friends.

Q: What do you hope to learn this year?

A: I want to learn how to sound like conductor exactly wants.

Q: What do you enjoy most about the arts?

A: It's the only thing I'm good at, so if I don't enjoy it, who will?

Q: As an artist, where do you see yourself in 10 years?

A: I maybe stay home and teach a few lessons. But I really want to learn the composing skills well so that I may be a music producer. Don't plan on doing classical all my life.

Sarah Reid, 15

• Edmond Memorial High School

• Orchestra

Q: Why did you want to attend OSAI this year?

A: I am attending OSAI this year to further my abilities as a violinist and musician.

Q: What do you hope to learn this year?

A: I hope to learn more about contemporary music.

Q: What do you enjoy most about the arts?

A: I enjoy being able to express myself through music.

Q: As an artist, where do you see yourself in 10 years?

A: In 10 years, I see myself writing and composing my own music, while also continuing my passion for the violin.

Brooke Reynolds, 16

• Edmond Memorial High School

• Acting

Q: Why did you want to attend OSAI this year?

A: The past two years I have attended OSAI I have had a great experience, and the atmosphere always keeps me coming back.

Q: What do you hope to learn this year?

A: I hope to learn more about being a believable and realistic performer.

Q: What do you enjoy most about the arts?

A: I love that anyone can experience them and interpret them however they please.

Q: As an artist, where do you see yourself in 10 years?

A: Hopefully I will be living in NYC or Chicago and performing regularly in a theatre company.
