EDMOND Local cowboy hero slated for chairty celebrity slide

Billy Etbauer, five-time World Champion saddle-bronc rider and Edmond resident, is slipping into a different saddle for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Etbauer will participate in the Reining Horse Sports Foundation (RHSF) 4R Performance Horses Celebrity Slide at 7 p.m. Nov. 29 at the State Fair Arena.

Tickets for the Celebrity Slide are $8 and can be purchased in advance at www.NRHA.com. Avid rodeo fans who want a chance to meet Etbauer and their other favorite cowboys “up close and personal” can attend a VIP Reception at the conclusion of the competition. Tickets to the VIP event may be purchased from the Foundation through RHSF Coordinator Brandi Jakola for $100 each (limited tickets available).

UCO to present free holiday choral concert at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help

The University of Central Oklahoma’s School of Music will present a free holiday choral concert at 4 p.m. on Nov. 23 at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 3214 N. Lake in Oklahoma City.

The performance will feature the UCO Concert Chorale, Cantilena Women’s Choir and Chamber Singers, and will be directed by Dr.Karl Nelson, UCO Director of Choral Studies.

Highlights will include “Silent Night,” “The Lamb” and Benjamin Britten’s widely performed “A Ceremony of Carols.” Harpist Gaye LeBlanc will accompany the choir on the Britten composition.

“What better way to get into the holiday spirit than by coming out to hear three of our finest vocal groups,” said Nelson. “In addition to several holiday classics, we will also feature a folk number and the spiritual, ‘My Soul’s Been Anchored in the Lord,’ arranged by Moses Hogan.”

For more information, contact the UCO School of Music at 974-5004.
