Special to The Sun
OKLA. CITY —
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oklahoma City will have its signature event of the year, the 10th annual Red Shoe Gala, Sept. 14 at the Oklahoma History Center. The evening begins with a silent auction and reception at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7:30 p.m.
“This year marks a very special Gala for us,” said Susan Adams, executive director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oklahoma City. “We are celebrating 10 years of generous community support and we are looking forward to raising critical dollars to continue providing the best possible resources to families of seriously ill children from across Oklahoma.”
During the evening, the Ronald McDonald House Charities Board of Directors will present the 2012 Red Shoe Award recognizing Southwest Airlines as a group dedicated to donating their time, talents and treasure to the charity. Associates of the local Southwest Airlines operations center have been volunteering their time, cooking meals for families, donating much-needed items and more for the past 17 years.
