The University of Central Oklahoma Department of Design will open an exhibit titled “The ADDY Show: An Exhibition of ADDY Award-Winning Entries from the Department of Design” with a reception from 4-6 p.m. Sept. 13 in the Donna Nigh Gallery on the fourth floor of the UCO Nigh University Center.
The exhibition will feature student-created designs that were awarded ADDY Awards during the 2012 local, district and national ADDY Awards competition.
The ADDY Awards are the advertising industry’s largest competition, attracting more than 50,000 entries every year in the local competitions throughout the nation. The Student ADDY Awards are a three-tier national competition sponsored by the American Advertising Federation and National Ad 2, and recognizes and rewards creative excellence by students.
“The Department of Design is overjoyed by the number of awards won by design students at the local, regional and national ADDY Awards this year,” said Ruki Ravikumar, chairwoman of the Department of Design. “This level of success would not be possible if not for the rigor of curriculum, caliber of student and dedication of the faculty in the department. We look forward to repeating this success in 2013,” she continued.
The exhibit will be on display through Oct. 30 and is free and open to the public.
