The sixth season of the OK City Star vocal competition will offer open call auditions in Edmond from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 13 at the University of Central Oklahoma. The event is open to all singers ages 16-25.
The judging panel will select up to 48 singers to move on to the semifinal round from contestants auditioning at four sites: Tulsa University, University of Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma City University and the University of Oklahoma.
These 48 contestants will compete at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City on April 19 and will be eligible to participate in the all-day Educational Symposium on April 20. The top 10 will compete in the finals April 27 at Douglass Auditorium in Oklahoma City.
The winner will receive a $1,000 Visa giftcard, have an original song composed and recorded at Freaksho Entertainment and aired on radio and TV. He or she also will be invited to perform with Way Out West recording artist Shawna Russell and receive a VIP package with front row tickets and backstage passes. All 10 finalists will receive cash prizes.
