Oklahoma Youth Orchestras to perform in concert Sunday

EDMOND — The first concert of the 2012-13 concert season for the Oklahoma Youth Orchestras will be on Oct. 28. The Oklahoma Youth Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestra, and Sinfonia will have their annual Halloween Concert at Edmond Santa Fe High School, 1901 W. 15th, in Edmond, beginning at 3 p.m.

The Oklahoma Youth Philharmonic is a full orchestra of talented high school and middle school students, under the direction of Peter Markes, and the Chamber Orchestra and Sinfonia are string ensembles under the direction of Dawn Thrailkill and Gena Alexander.

The concert is sponsored in part by the Oklahoma Arts Council, the Kirkpatrick Foundation, the the Ad Astra Foundation, and Chesapeake Energy. 

The Oklahoma Youth Orchestras program is a member agency of Allied Arts, and the concert is an OKCityCard event. Admission is $5 per person, $10 per family, and $2 for students.
