Edmond Library sponsors watercolor painting class

Special to The Sun

EDMOND — Watercolors are among the most popular media for hobbyists who love to paint. The transparent luminosity has delighted viewers and artists since the Paleolithic days of cave painting.

Local artists Jim and Marilyn Pourtorkan, whose previous visit to the Edmond Library, 10 S. Boulevard, last January was a great success, return to share a love of watercolors and introduce the basic skills and techniques of watercolor painting at 10 a.m. Saturday.

“Jim and Marilyn will show their audience how to apply color and compose a painting,” said librarian Mary Ann Johnson. “And the event is not just a lecture, but a hands-on demonstration. It’s free and the library will supply all the material.”

Library customers are asked to stop by the Edmond Library Information Desk or phone ahead to 341-9282, ext. 3 to sign up. For more information about this, visit www.metrolibrary.org.
