OKLA. CITY —
The OK City Star, a vocal event for singers ages 16-25, is a project of the OK City Chorus, an Allied Arts member agency. It provides performance and education opportunities along with a major prize package for the winner. The winner of the 2014 OK City Star will receive $1,000 in cash and the opportunity to record a single in a professional studio. Cash prizes are presented to all 10 finalists.
Live auditions will take place at the Oklahoma Jazz Lab in Tulsa on April 2, at the Academy for Contemporary Music and at ACM@UCO on April 3. Singers also will be able to audition by submitting a video for evaluation by the judges.
The top 40 singers move on to the semi-final round, which will take place at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City on April 11. The OK City Star is made possible by Allied Arts, ACM@UCO, Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, The Oklahoma State Fair, Sonic America’s Drive-In, Arts @ St. Luke’s, VoiceOverJones.com and the OK City Chorus of Sweet Adelines International.
