Science Museum Oklahoma and News 9 announced Tornado Alley Day in conjunction with the IMAX Dome Theater movie, “Tornado Alley.” The event will take place in Science Museum Oklahoma’s Dome Lobby on Dec. 15, with special guests from the News 9 Weather Team, meteorologists Nick Bender, Matt Mahler and chief storm tracker Val Castor.
“Tornado Alley Day is sure to excite weather enthusiasts young or old,” said Jacquelyn Musgrove, communications director, Science Museum Oklahoma. “We are thrilled to be partnered with the News 9 Weather Team and have their experts here at SMO to share their knowledge of how weather works and how their team tracks the big storms that roll through Oklahoma.”
The News 9 team will be hosting and engaging guests along with showing the inner workings their storm-chasing vehicle. This event is a perfect time for families to come learn more about tornadoes, storms and safety. “Tornado Alley” show times are the following: 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Guests can pre-purchase tickets by calling 602-3760.
