Police: Man shot after domestic argument

EDMOND — An apparent domestic dispute ended Sunday afternoon with an Edmond man’s death, according to Edmond Police.

Police are not yet releasing the victim’s name, said Jenny Monroe, Edmond Police spokeswoman.

The couple living at 1505 Louis Scott in the Pebble Creek addition near Danforth and Santa Fe Avenue were separated, Monroe said. The husband had moved out of the home, but had dropped by the residence about 12:55 p.m. Sunday, she said. He still had keys to the home and confronted his wife and a male friend who were inside the residence.

Monroe said the three argued and at some point the husband went outside to his pickup and retrieved a large knife before re-entering the home. Once inside, the husband allegedly threatened the other male with the knife. The man pulled out a pistol and shot the husband three times, police believe, Monroe said.

The 911 call coming from the home stated that an intruder to the home had been shot, Monroe said.

Shortly after 5 p.m., police were waiting on the medical examiner to arrive on scene. Both the wife and her friend were at the Edmond Police Department continuing to answer questions about what happened, Monroe said.
