Citizens will vote Oct. 11 to determine if the city will have a new Public Safety Center in downtown Edmond area in the not-to-distant future.
During Friday’s roughly one-hour-long special meeting, City Council members agreed unanimously to put a 1/2 cent five-year sales tax that would then sunset and language that would free up money from a hospital fund on the ballot to pay for the center.
It would house the Edmond Police Department, the Central Communications Department and the Emergency Management Department.
