Arvest Bank aims for November opening of Edmond branch

EDMOND — Arvest Bank has broken ground on its fifth branch in Edmond.

Kelly Brander, president and CEO of greater Arvest OKC, said construction is estimated to be completed in November.

“We have been working to geographically put locations on a spectrum to provide convenience for our customers,” Brander said.

Becky Franklin, executive vice president and sales manager for the greater Oklahoma City area, said there was a need to better serve customers that lived in northeast Edmond. She said they have an Arvest Bank in the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market on Second Street, but it does not have a drive-through.

The new bank will be 4,000 square feet and have five drive through lanes. Brander said the building resembles the locations at 15th and Pennsylvania Avenue and on West Edmond Road between Kelly and Santa Fe.

It initially will create 12-15 jobs but will create 20 in the long-term.

The bank will follow Arvest’s convenience hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The drive-through will open at 7 a.m. Monday through Saturday.

“Our main focus is to offer convenience to our customers,” Brander said.

He said they also focus on providing financial solutions to customers, both retail and business.

“We put our decision makers out in the community,” Brander said. “We don’t pod them in a central location.”

Arvest Bank is active in the Edmond Public Schools Foundation, the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce and participates in charitable events in Edmond.

The bank holds $750 million in assets in the greater Oklahoma City area and is a $10 billion organization. Franklin said 52 million deposits have been made in Edmond since Arvest came to the city in 2000.
