Special to The Sun

OKLA. CITY — Inc. magazine recently ranked Saratoga Roofing & Construction No. 207 on its 31st annual Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy — America’s independent entrepreneurs. Companies such as Microsoft, Zappos, Intuit, Jamba Juice, Zipcar, Clif Bar, Vizio, Oracle and many other well-known names gained early exposure as members of the Inc. 500|5000.

Northwest Oklahoma-City based Saratoga Roofing & Construction has been based in Oklahoma less than four years. But in that short time, the 13-year-old firm has grown from 12 full-time employees to more than 300, according to the company, and will realize more than a projected 300 percent growth rate in 2012 over 2011 with projected revenues nearing $35 million.

“Our company values are important to us, and we don’t take them lightly.  Always bring your best. Be a team builder. We are safety professionals. Be a clear communicator. We are quality service providers. We Honor God, our team and our customers with integrity,” said Chris Green, CEO of Saratoga Roofing & Construction and an Edmond resident.

In the past 13 years, Saratoga has evolved from a residential contractor to a large commercial contractor that specializes in government, industrial and retail projects.

“The commercial industry is very competitive, but with our years of service, work history and the integrity our team puts into each job, we feel moving into the commercial industry was the right move for us,” said Denver Green, president.

The 2012 Inc. 500, unveiled in the September issue of Inc. (available on newsstands through Nov. 15), is the most competitive crop in the list’s history, the magazine states. To make the cut, companies had to have achieved a staggering minimum of 770 percent in sales growth. The Inc. 500’s aggregate revenue is $15.7 billion, with a median three-year growth of 1,431 percent. The companies on this year’s Inc. 500 employ more than 48,000 people and generated more than 40,000 jobs in the past three years. Complete results of the Inc. 500|5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region and other criteria, can be found at

“Now, more than ever, we depend on Inc. 500/5000 companies to spur innovation, provide jobs and drive the economy forward. Growth companies, not large corporations, are where the action is,” said Inc. magazine Editor Eric Schurenberg.

The top 500 will be honored at an awards ceremony and conference Oct. 3-5 in Phoenix.
