Businesses team to promote CNG conversion loan programs

EDMOND — Craig Wright, president of Edmond-based CNG Interstate, said two local financial institutions are promoting new loan programs for individuals and businesses interested in converting vehicles to run on compressed natural gas.

Wright said Citizens Bank of Edmond and Allegiance Credit Union are now offering CNG conversion loan programs. Wright’s company converts vehicles to run on CNG, offering mileage-conscious drivers an alternative to the higher prices of traditional gasoline.

“The long-term economic benefits of CNG conversion are obvious, but up-front costs can be a deterrent for some people and businesses,” Wright said. “I’m encouraged that our local bank and credit union are offering such great financing options for families and businesses who want to grab the future today.”

Wright said Citizens Bank of Edmond is focusing on fleet conversions and business financing, and Allegiance Credit Union’s program is aimed at individual vehicles.

“By converting fleet vehicles to CNG, businesses of all sizes can have opportunities to reap significant fuel savings,” said Citizens Bank of Edmond Chief Credit Officer Jill Castilla. “Our program is designed specifically to help businesses realize the expected financial benefits a CNG fleet can offer. This program further demonstrates our bank’s commitment to local business growth and profit optimization.”

Locally owned and operated, Citizens Bank of Edmond has been serving the Edmond community and metro businesses since 1901 with six Edmond locations.

“CNG conversions offer drivers serious savings and our low-cost signature loans can help individuals capture those benefits for themselves,” said Allegiance Vice President of Corporate Development Laurel Pope. “We can help our members declare their energy independence from high gasoline prices.”

A community-chartered credit union, Allegiance has locations in Edmond and across the metro.

Wright says CNG vehicles will play an important role in solving America’s energy problems.

“I’m excited that Citizens Bank of Edmond and Allegiance Credit Union are making conversion financing available,” Wright said. “I’m proud to join with these Oklahoma businesses as we promote an Oklahoma solution to America’s dependence on foreign oil.”
