EDMOND —
The University of Central Oklahoma Small Business Development Center’s (SBDC) March workshops are now available for sign-up, offering small business owners help in areas like Web site marketing, tax solutions for small businesses and developing an effective brand and logo.
From 1-4 p.m. March 24, the “E-mail Marketing Using Constant Contact” workshop will discuss the e-mail marketing tool Constant Contact, which allows businesses to reach customers quickly and efficiently.
All Constant Contact workshop participants will receive a free 60-day trial period of Constant Contact, and participants who choose to use the program will receive a referral from Central’s SBDC for an extra $30 value to be used towards their subscription fees.
Participants should bring their laptop, digital copies of their business’ logo and up to four digital pictures. Computers will be available to use for those without laptops.
From 1-4 p.m. March 24, the “Quickbooks — Set Up and Problem Solving” workshop will help businesses that either just purchased Quickbooks — accounting software for businesses — and want to make certain the software is set up properly, or those currently using Quickbooks who need help solving problems they are experiencing.
Participants should either bring their laptop or computer with Quickbooks software already installed, or bring a backup file on a thumb drive for correction and reloading back to their computer.
From 1-4 p.m. March 25, “Tax Solutions for Small Business” will offer participants the latest in tax tips for small business, necessary forms and the pitfalls to avoid in maintaining a happy, healthy business.
From 2-4:30 p.m. March 25, the “Business Planning 101” workshop will help participants create and begin a business plan, while significantly focusing on how to read financial projections. Participants are encouraged to bring their laptop to this workshop.
From 9 a.m. to noon March 26, the “Logos and Branding” workshop will help participants develop or update their business’ logo or brand to become easily recognizable by others, while also learning techniques to make their business name stand out from the rest. Class size is limited.
Workshops cost $69 to attend, with the exception of “Quickbooks,” which costs $99. Participants should arrive to each workshop 15 minutes early to sign in.
Each workshop will be held at Central’s SBDC, located at One Santa Fe Plaza in downtown Oklahoma City, except for “E-mail Marketing Using Constant Contact,” which will be held at the Edmond Chamber of Commerce at 825 E. Second St. in Edmond.
