EDMOND — Adults 55 and older now have a local clinic designed to manage primary health care needs, oversee chronic conditions and manage specialty services from home health to surgery options. OU Medical Center Edmond’s Senior Health Clinic opened Monday, and is located in the hospital’s medical office building at Second and Bryant streets.

Heading the clinic is Dr. Larry D. Balzer, a family medicine physician who specializes in geriatric health. Balzer is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, and has practiced geriatric medicine since 1988. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Practice.

Patients will receive longer appointments, with more one-on-one time with the physician. Additionally, a dedicated nursing staff and social worker will help advise patients and coordinate all aspects of their care, from scheduling medical appointments to planning for assisted living arrangements.

The Senior Health Clinic is currently accepting new patients and welcomes Medicare, as well as other payment options. To make an appointment, or for more information, call 359-5229.
