The Oklahoma Office of Disability Concerns, Oklahoma Rehabilitation Council, Oklahoma Rehabilitation Association, the Oklahoma Statewide Independent Living Councils and Central Oklahoma Workforce Investment Board among othe nonprofits will showcase employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The event, titled “ Why Work Pay$!” offers training to help further individuals with disabilities to enter employment through the understanding of the value of work and their paycheck.
The event will be at the Oklahoma History Museum from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 25. There will be sessions on “Why Work Matters!” “What your Pay Check Means,” “Impacts of the new Healthcare Laws” and “Why Work Pays!”
Each session will be interactive and informative; it will provide opportunity for questions, comments or concerns. The last session is the longest with a nationally recognized motivational speaker Abby Cooper to lead the audience on the road to wealth and building personal assets through meaningful and fulfilling employment.
