See’s Candies opens new shop at Penn Square Mall

Special to The Sun

OKLA. CITY — See’s Candies will celebrate the opening of a new shop July 19 in Oklahoma City. The new shop, located in the Penn Square Mall, will serve more than 100 varieties of candy, all of which are made from scratch and with quality ingredients. American made and famous for deliciousness, See’s adds no preservatives to its candy — ever.

On opening day, the new shop new will handout free lollypops and hats to children as well as feature a prize wheel where guests can spin to win. See’s historical vehicles also will be on display.

“We value our guests and believe in always providing great customer service,” said Ann Ostrander, V.P., Retail Sales for See’s Candies. “Over the past 92 years, we have remained true to the heritage founded by Mary See. We continue to use Mary See’s original recipes, decorate the shops in black and white to mirror her kitchen and always choose the finest ingredients — just like Mary would do. We are very excited to open our doors to the Oklahoma City community and welcome the residents to be a part of the See’s family.”

At the candy counter guests can create custom boxes of chocolates and candies to keep or wrap up and gift to others. The candies that See’s is famous for include boxed chocolates, truffles, nuts and chews and lollypops — all of which are gluten free. In addition, the shop will continue the See’s tradition of providing each guest with a free sample upon arrival to the shop. See’s gives away more than one million pounds of candy per year in free samples.

Founded and headquartered in sunny California, See’s Candies has expanded from one candy shop to more than 200 shops across America, and a flourishing online store.
