Saxum accepting applications for Step Up pro-bono service grant

OKLA. CITY — Saxum, an integrated marketing communications agency offering public relations, advertising and digital services, is currently accepting applications for its Step Up program. This is the fifth year for the company to offer its Step Up grant, which will award up to $100,000 in pro bono service projects for Oklahoma City and Tulsa nonprofits. The services grants could include public relations, advertising and/or digital services, depending on needs of the grant recipients.

“We are proud to have offices in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, and we want to support the communities in which our employees live and work,” said Debbie Schramm, Saxum president. “Our Step Up program is a chance for Saxum to help Oklahoma City and Tulsa-area nonprofits elevate their brand and reputation and build awareness among their key audiences, including volunteers, donors and clients. We’re looking forward to reviewing these applications and selecting one or more nonprofits to receive a service grant.”

Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) organization, must have an annual gross income of at least $500,000 and must be located and provide services in the metropolitan areas of Oklahoma City and/or Tulsa. Applications must be posted online by 5 p.m. Aug. 15. Applicants can visit http://www.saxum.com/step-up-2013/ for details and to complete the application.

Saxum has organized an advisory committee made up of nonprofit leaders in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, as well as Saxum leadership staff to oversee the selection process. Advisory committee members include Ann Felton, Oklahoma City Habitat for Humanity; Bob Ross, Inasmuch Foundation; Debby Hampton, United Way of Central Oklahoma; Deborah McAuliffe Senner, Allied Arts; Ken Busby, Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa; Mark R. Graham, Tulsa Area United Way; Marnie Taylor, Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits; C. Renzi Stone, Saxum CEO; Debbie Schramm, Saxum President; and Carol Troy, Saxum Of Counsel.

Previous Step Up recipients include the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma, Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, Community Action Project of Tulsa and YWCA Oklahoma City.
