The Edmond Planning Commission this week agreed 5-0 to the site plan for Qdoba restaurant.
Plans call for additional retail and restaurant space for the business to be located on the south side of Covell Road, west of Uptown Grocery Co., said Bob Schiermeyer, city planner. The property is platted as part of the Market Square at Covell Village. This location is not within a sensitive border area.
“The architectural style will be similar to Uptown Grocery Co. with brick veneer, cast stone and metal frames on the windows,” Schiermeyer said.
Applicant L5 Construction has met all the city requirements for landscaping, drainage, trash bin enclosure and a fire sprinklers, Schiermeyer said.
“It’s a good traffic design,” Schiermeyer said.
The engineering department is pleased with the utilities and public access, Schiermeyer said. Interconnecting driveways and parking relate throughout the project.
Access will be from the common area drive in to Uptown Grocery Co. A cross-access driveway has been shown for the undeveloped retail lot to the west.
“The building square footage is 6,100 square feet and if both buildings were used for restaurants, the required parking would be 61 spaces,” Schiermeyer said.
No further action on the item is required by the city, said Barry Moore, commission chairman.
