Tulsa —
The Oklahoma Building Chapter of The Associated General Contractors of America named Flintco LLC Oklahoma City Division President Mark Grimes “2011 Builder of the Year” and honored Flintco with a prestigious “Build Oklahoma Award” at the association’s 72nd annual awards banquet on Jan. 21 at the Renaissance Hotel in Tulsa.
“We are extremely pleased to see Mark’s commitment, professionalism and experience recognized by his peers and AGC,” said Tom Maxwell, president and CEO of Flintco LLC. “Mark’s leadership has helped change the landscape of downtown Oklahoma City and the overall growth of our great state.”
Grimes’ recognition as “Builder of the Year” is the highest honor given to an individual by the organization and recognizes an industry leader each year who exemplifies the AGC’s attributes of skill, integrity and responsibility. Grimes received this honor for his more than 30 years of dedication and commitment to the construction industry.
“This is a tremendous honor for me personally and professionally,” Grimes said. “AGC’s mission of leading the way through the use of skill, integrity, responsibility and quality is one I take very seriously, and I am honored and humbled to receive this award.”
Flintco was awarded a 2011 Build Oklahoma Award for the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Tower in Oklahoma City. The new eight-story, 185,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art tower will house BSL-2 laboratories, special laboratories for imaging and specialized scientific equipment. The tower also houses administrative and scientific offices, collaborative spaces, building support facilities and enclosed pedestrian bridges to adjacent buildings. OMRF is seeking LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
