Millie’s Table honored by Rotary Club

Special to The Sun

EDMOND — Millie’s Table of Edmond is the Four-Way Test winner of Edmond Rotary Club, exhibiting the four tenets of Rotary — truthfulness and fairness, building goodwill and better friendships.

Rotarian Sandy Chappell nominated the catering and pick-up-a-meal company.

“I am always greeted with a smile and a warm comment,” said Chappell. “I have never seen anyone on the staff be anything but pleasant and courteous.

“When I asked Millie if she would help provide food for the Braille camp for the hearing impaired this summer, she did not hesitate to respond with a quick ‘Yes.’”

Millie’s Table donates food and her time for Arise Ministries for single mothers, fund-raisers for The Kids Place, which is a faith-based support group for children and teens who are experiencing mourning after the death of a loved one or friend, Citizens Caring for Children, which helps foster children and Good Works Ministry, and provided food after recent storms.

The service organization meets at noon every Wednesday at Henderson Hills Baptist Church, located at 15th and the east I-35 Service Road.

The Edmond Rotary Club welcomes any interested party to attend its weekly meetings. Lunch is available for $12.50. Reservations may be made by contacting club secretary Allison Calhoun at acalh@cox.net.
