FAA Credit Union to host charity tournament

FAA Credit Union will host its third annual Fall Open Charity Golf Tournament on Sept. 20. The event will take place at Rose Creek Golf Club in Edmond with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. They are currently seeking players and sponsors for the event, which is open to all interested parties.

“We are looking forward to building on the success of last year’s tournament,” said Steve Rasmussen, Credit Union president/CEO. “We have a tremendous amount of support from our vendors, members and employees and this gives them a way to support this worthy cause while doing something they enjoy.”

Last year’s tournament raised more than $16,000, with all proceeds given to Children’s Miracle Network to fund local research and treatment of pediatric illnesses such as diabetes, cancer, heart and muscular diseases and birth defects.

This work is accomplished under the auspices of the Children’s Hospital Foundation’s endowed research chair programs at the Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. This year the tournament has also been selected to be part of the COOP Financial Networks Miracle Match program meaning a portion of the dollars raised will be matched, up to $10,000.

The golf tournament will also feature a 50/50 game of luck, giving non-golfers the opportunity to get involved in the day’s events. Other events include a longest drive, closest to the pin and hole-in-one contest. Team registration and sponsorships are due by Sept. 1. Contact Katie Gillian or Mike Shockley at 682-1990, for additional information.
