Gold and Silver Buyers move into Edmond market

EDMOND — If you are in the market to sell your gold, silver or diamonds, the nation’s largest gold buyer, Gold and Silver buyers, has moved into Edmond. Gold and Silver Buyers opened in Edmond in December at 1605 S. Broadway.

“If you sell your gold or silver to anyone else, your losing money,” said Marcie Harris, Gold and Silver Buyers marketing and promotional manager.

Gold and Silver Buyers has more than 200 locations in Texas, California, Colorado, Oregon, Oklahoma, Alabama and Georgia. They began 40 years ago in Houston, Texas, where there gold refinery is located but didn’t set-up a store front until 2007.

Gold and Silver Buyers is open seven days a week. Appraisals of items will take about 15 minutes, depending on how many items are brought in, and the customers will be offered cash on the spot. “Word of mouth referrals are our best source of business,” Harris said.

To determine if jewelry is authentic, Gold and Silver Buyers will do a magnetic test or an acid test. A computer based formula determines how much a person will be paid for their jewelry because the price of golf varies daily. “It’s a happy environment, people are coming in for help,” Harris said. “I love dealing with people.” Gold and Silver Buyers is planning to add 10 more stores in the metro area within the next year.
