EDMOND — After 15 years, Jason Gilliam at Parkway Cleaners in Edmond was promoted recently to general manager of cleaning operations.

“I’m just happy to be at Parkway Cleaners and happy to work at one of the best places in the industry,” Gilliam said. “To be selected as one of America’s best cleaners is a phenomenal distinction.”

Parkway Cleaners owner Mark Neighbors said Gilliam’s work ethic is just one of many reasons why he decided to promote Gilliam.

“Jason brings new energy and ideas at Parkway Cleaners,” Neighbors said. “We are happy to have him.”

Gilliam said he began working for Neighbors during his freshman year at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.

After graduation, Gilliam said he decided to stay working with Neighbors.

“It was best to continue to work with each other and help grow all his businesses,” Gilliam said.

Gilliam said he also stayed because of the people in this area.

“Edmond is such a great community,” he said. “The people really make Edmond special.”

Gilliam said in his 15 years, he has had various jobs from digging holes to sewing expensive, custom suits.
