EDMOND — More than 100 Chesapeake employees — all current or former military service members — gathered at the company’s Oklahoma City campus to celebrate Veteran’s Day. During the ceremony, CEO Doug Lawler thanked the employees for their military service and distributed a commemorative challenge coin to each veteran, a military practice where commanders in charge recognize a special achievement or honor by a member of the unit. Colonel Michael Teague, Oklahoma Secretary of Energy and Environment, and Sergeant Major Frank Pulley, founder of Military Veteran Solutions, also spoke at the event. Chesapeake was recently named a 2014 Military Friendly Employer by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse magazines, for the fourth consecutive year.
