Sephora product benefits Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma

Special to The Sun

OKLA. CITY — To assist with hunger relief efforts in Oklahoma, Sephora in Penn Square Mall is selling the “Values Inside Out” product to help raise donations for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

Across the nation, participating Sephora locations were able to identify a “charity of choice” that would benefit from their community outreach efforts this year. Earlier in the year, the Sephora store in Penn Square Mall selected the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma as its “charity of choice.” This designation means that throughout the year, the Regional Food Bank will be invited to participate in various opportunities to raise awareness or generate additional funds for the nonprofit; the VIO product launch that took place on June 1 is just one of these opportunities.

Sephora announced this year’s VIO product is the “YOU+ SEPHORA” Cosmetic Collection. This collection includes a clutch, glitter eye liner, lip gloss and nail polish. The retail price for this bag is $20, with $13 from each bag sold going to the Regional Food Bank. Sephora has agreed to make this donation for each sold during the period through Dec. 31, while supplies last.

“We appreciate the opportunity to work with Sephora and their ‘Values Inside Out’ campaign,” said Rodney Bivens, executive director of the Regional Food Bank. “Their support and that of their loyal customers will make an impact on the lives of people struggling with hunger in our state.”

One in six Oklahomans struggles with hunger every day and Oklahoma is the fifth hungriest state in the nation. The majority of those served by the Regional Food Bank are the working poor, senior citizens and children.
