EDMOND —
Jeff Click, of Edmond, officially took office as Oklahoma State Home Builders Association’s president Saturday night, representing 2,400 members in Oklahoma’s home-building industry.
Brandon Perkins of Tulsa, immediate past president of the OSHBA board, was named “Builder of the Year” during the association’s annual banquet, sponsored this year at Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association conference center.
Before being elected to the leadership of the state association, Click served as the 2009 president of Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association. He was awarded the 2009 COHBA “Builder of the Year” award.
One of the youngest independent builders in Oklahoma, the 37-year-old was selected 2010 “Forty Under 40” by OKCBiz and was ranked among Inc. magazine’s “Inc. 5000” fastest growing companies.
Click is a Certified Professional Builder, among just more than 150 builders statewide.
The Certified Builder program ensures the consumers’ interests are protected in a state that does not require licensing of builders. That means the homebuilder carries general liability and workers compensation insurance and has taken the required continuing education classes, among other stringent requirements.
Jeff and his wife, Deziray, have two daughters and live in Edmond.
Immediate past president of the Associates Council, Terry Jennings of Oklahoma Rainmaster, was named “Associate of the Year.”
Click’s executive council includes Past President Perkins of Brandon Perkins Development of Tulsa; vice president/treasurer Todd Booze of Ideal Homes in Norman, and new-to-the-board, vice president/secretary Phil Rhees, BMI Properties in Tulsa.
Rhees was awarded state “Builder of the Year” in 2010.
Donna Cullins of Preferred Plans Inc. in Norman rounds out the executive team as the chair of the Associates Council. The Associates Council is the right arm of the OSHBA, representing businesses that support the home building industry.
Serving with Cullins on the Associates Council are Vice Chair Gina Cox, Stewart Abstract & Title; Treasurer Vanessa Shadix, Old Republic Title, and joining the council, Secretary Steve Sullivan, OG&E, and past chair Terry Jennings. All are of Oklahoma City.
The Oklahoma State Home Builders Association is a not-for-profit, professional trade organization that advocates for the state’s housing industry and serves some 2,400 members. The association is a corporate channel through which builders contribute time, money and services to lead community service projects and education initiatives.
Members include builders, remodelers, suppliers, manufacturers, architects, engineers, real estate brokers, lenders, attorneys and other industry professionals.
