Local residents raise funds for National Adoption Month

Many people take for granted the security that comes with having a loving family. However, for the estimated 118,000 children in the United States public foster care system awaiting adoption, the comforts of home are only a dream. In 2005 Jockey International Inc., the privately held, family owned and operated apparel company, found a way to help those dreams become a reality.

This November, in recognition of National Adoption Month, Jockey will donate 100 percent of the net proceeds from the sale of every Jockey Being Family teddy bear and lapel pin to the Debra Steigerwaldt Waller Foundation for Adoption.

Jockey Person to Person “Comfort Specialists” offer the teddy bear and lapel pin sold via in-home parties personally guided by the Comfort Specialists, themselves.

For more information, call local representatives Julie Atyia at 823-8855 or Terri Elledge at 330-6260.
