EDMOND — Edmond will be represented at the Rio Oil and Gas Expo 2008, one of the largest oil and gas events in the world, Sept. 15-18 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Reese Energy Consulting is one of eight Oklahoma companies participating in the event.
“It’s going to help us expand some of our consulting and training in South America,” said Steve Reese, CEO.
Jason McCarty, marketing manager for the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, said the Global Business Division of the department is leading a delegation to Brazil to help Oklahoma companies develop their strategy to tap into the industry and form successful business partnerships. Brazil’s oil and gas industry is one of the most attractive sectors for United States business.
It will be attended by all of the major U.S. energy companies, including Exxon and Shell, Reese said. Reese Energy will have a booth set up at the expo and will conduct individual meetings with pre-qualified agents, distributors and partners.
“Reese Energy Consulting offers the expertise today’s small- and mid-size producers need to navigate the complexities of contract negotiation natural gas, liquids, crude oil and electrical power, so this mission and the Rio Oil and Gas show was a perfect fit and added value to his international marketing efforts,” McCarty said.
Reese said the company provides consulting related to gas and oil marketing in the energy sector and invests in the midstream gas sector. He said their clients include users, utilities and oil and gas producers.
“We feel like our client base, especially in Oklahoma and Texas has really grown in the last four or five years,” Reese said.
The company started in 1994 and has offices in Edmond, Dallas and Tulsa.
