Market research workshop for small businesses offered July 24

Special to The Sun

MIDWEST CITY — Whether a new or existing business owner, come to “Market Research to Grow Your Business” and learn how to utilize two web-based services that are available to help you identify and research customers, find market data, and access business-to-business data. The event will take place July 24 from 9-11 a.m. at Rose State College, Professional Training Center, 6420 S.E. 15th St., Midwest City. Registration is $15 per person and may be made online at www.reiwbc.org.

The goal of this workshop is to make it easier for business owners to find information they need to grow their businesses and learn how to put this information to practical use. Attendees will learn how to use the BusinessDecision and Reference USA interfaces, access detailed demographic information about consumer spending habits, identify new target markets and incorporate this data into business planning to make marketing efforts more effective. Participants are welcome to bring laptops or other devices to receive hands-on instruction.

Workshop presenters include Heather Thompson, Business Outreach coordinator from the Pioneer Library System, and Jennifer Edwards, coordinator from REI Women’s Business Center. Event partners are OkSBDC and REI Women’s Business Center, funded in part by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
