EDMOND — Edmond Chamber professional completes training program

The Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Executives Association recently recognized Allison Fine, information specialist at the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce, for successfully completing the Chamber Management Institute. Classes provided insight into critical management issues such as program development, finance, economic development, marketing, state resources, membership recruitment and retention, and chamber administration.

Participants in the OCCE Chamber Management Institute are chamber executives, staff and board leaders from chambers of commerce throughout the state of Oklahoma. In addition to formal classroom instruction, attendees are able to network with each other, thereby increasing their learning potential. Graduates of the program are encouraged to implement new ideas, programs and strategies in their chamber and use this enhanced knowledge to change and improve chamber programs, activities and events.

OCCE is a statewide organization for chamber of commerce professionals dedicated to the professional development of its members.

Car wash food drive to benefit hungry Oklahomans

With the holiday season quickly approaching, a local business has stepped up to help during a crucial time at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

Starting this Friday through Nov. 25, Boomerang Carwash will have food drives at each of its six Oklahoma City metro locations as part of its “Help Us Show Thanks” holiday promotion. Each customer that donates a non-perishable food item will receive a $6 gift card to use at any Boomerang Carwash.

“As a community, we believe we can show great strength and this is one of the ways we are trying to give back. Help us show thanks!” said Jessica Price, director of marketing at Drive Clean LLC.

Donations can be dropped off at each Boomerang location:

• 1308 S. Santa Fe Ave.;

• 950 Sonoma Park Drive;

• 7323 N.W. Expressway;

• 5807 W. Reno Ave.;

• 8300 S. Western Ave.; and

• 12425 N. Pennsylvania Ave.

The Regional Food Bank provides enough food to feed more than 63,000 people each week, and yet, it is still not enough. In fact, partner agencies are reporting an increase in demand as high as 50 percent this year. During the holidays, donations become even more important as families struggle to pay higher utility bills and still have enough left over to put food on the table.

EXIT Realty announces alliance with EcoBroker International

The green real estate movement is today’s mantra for everything from energy-efficient appliances and toxin-free building materials to all-natural cleaning supplies or water-saving products. Everywhere we turn, marketing screams for our lives to “go green.” Whether it’s the bag you pack your groceries in, separating recyclables before putting out the garbage or checking the tags on what you buy to ensure it’s organic, day-to-day living centers around being — or quickly becoming — eco-friendly.

With that in mind, EXIT Realty Corp. International announced the launch of its green initiative, “Teal Is the New Green,” which includes training, resources and other tools to assist their agents in marketing themselves as proficient green Realtors.

The company says EcoBroker’s green designation training and ongoing support will provide EXIT Realty agents with the resources to be constructive green ambassadors in an ever-changing business and consumer world. They will be able to knowledgeably assist clients in their pursuit of properties that provide affordability, comfort and a healthier environment. EXIT-EcoBroker certified professionals also will help sellers effectively market their properties with green features.
