TEEMCO wins Environmental Initiative of the Year Award

EDMOND — During the Rocky Mountain Oil & Gas Awards gala on Tuesday in Denver, TEEMCO accepted the award for Environmental Initiative of the Year. The award recognizes any technological development or project that aids in the alleviation of environmental impact from the oil and gas industry.

TEEMCO, based in Edmond, has developed three programs in the past few years that served as the platform for their nomination and win. ENVITE, TAM and TECAT are management systems, each of them aiding clients in regulatory compliance. ENVITE focuses on environmental compliance, TAM focuses on air emissions and TECAT assists in developing risk management plans.

“(These programs) took years to develop and are poised to be game changers for the industry,” said CEO Greg Lorson, of Edmond. “They improve efficiency, reduce costs, and improve compliance.”

The companies vying for the award were selected by demonstrating true innovation in tackling environmental issues, while implementing practices that prove environmental advantages.

“The awards are an important means of raising public awareness about what the oil and gas industry is doing to produce energy in a sustainable and socially responsible manner,” Lorson said.

The Northeast Oil & Gas Awards was in Pittsburgh, Penn., on Thursday, where TEEMCO was nominated for Consultancy of the Year Award, as well as Environmental Initiative of the Year Award.

TEEMCO is a leading environmental services company and is dedicated to the oil, gas, fuel and farm industries. In 2012, the company was selected by the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers to be the exclusive provider of environmental engineering services to the Alliance’s 3,300 members. TEEMCO also has developed several proprietary software solutions for environmental compliance management and risk management for the oil and gas industry. Headquartered in Edmond, TEEMCO has offices in Houston, Midland, Texas, Pittsbugh, Kan., Pittsburgh, Penn., and Washington, D.C.
