Local doctor brings new laser treatment to metro area

EDMOND — Chances for finding the proverbial Fountain of Youth are slim to none, but one Edmond doctor who offices in south Oklahoma City is one step closer to bringing similar results to his patients.

Dr. Darryl D. Robinson has brought to Oklahoma City metro-area men and women the ability to turn back time and to work toward not only a longer, more healthy life, but also a more beautiful one.

At Longevity, Robinson’s team works with health, beauty and wellness to enhance the body inside and out.

Practicing in the area of spine care for a decade, Robinson has increased his health care base to include longevity, health, beauty and wellness and had his grand opening in October.

“Initially I got into wellness, and I was introduced to the American Academy of anti-aging and regeneration where the beauty aspect was introduced as well,” Robinson said.

For those wanting a face lift but not wanting to do something invasive, Robinson uses a BBL laser, or a BroadBand Light Laser, in reducing wrinkles, brown spots, skin resurfacing and skin tightening.

“Our BBL sets us apart from other methods,” Robinson said. “We have a better outcome and it is not invasive. We use a BBL laser to penetrate the skin, and I believe our clinic is the only one in this area, although there may be one more in Tulsa.”

Robinson’s team also treats photo damage from the sun and the results of genetics including capillaries that burst and red spots as well as skin tightening.

With four treatments, one month apart, the patient will continue to receive benefits with one or two additional trips to the clinic a year, Robinson said.

“A BBL laser is not invasive but the patient must be careful in the sun and wear a quality sunscreen with a SPF of 15 to 20, a good moisturizer, begin a maintenance regimen if not already doing so, endeavor to eat a well-balanced diet with lots of fruits and vegetables and lean meat, abstain from smoking and practice an exercise program,” Robinson said.

Robinson’s clinic also offers botox injections, facials, microdermabrasion, both body and therapeutic massages, and an infrared sauna that helps detox impurities and chemicals from the skin caused by the environment.

Robinson’s clinic also provides hormone replacement.

“Hormone replacement can be life altering,” Robinson said, “as hormones affect memory, skin, mood and inflammation in the body. By having hormones balanced with progesterone, a cancer risk is reduced.”

Most every chronic illness comes from chronic inflammation and insulin resistance, Robinson said.

“I also have a medically supervised weight-loss clinic with a dietitian,” Robinson said. “Dietary changes include supplements for joints, skin, heart and brain. In the weight-loss area I use natural supplements and optimize hormone products and thyroid and structure plan and in some cases we use prescriptions. The Metabolic Code diet is introduced as a lifetime way to eat but should be first tried under the guidance of a physician.”

The Metabolic Code Diet aims to reboot a person’s calorie-burning power by assessing their body chemistry, sleep patterns, stress levels and other life experience that can affect the way their body burns calories. A free consultation helps Robinson to come up with the plan that is most sustainable for the patient.

All of the above things are linked for longevity, Robinson said.

Robinson’s clinic is for men as well as women who want to make their life a longer and healthier one.

“If you have a health problem, want to lose weight, feel tired or your testosterone is low, we target on an area,” Robinson said, “educate the customer and begin a customized approach to reach a goal.”

Robinson starts with a diet that includes lean meats and carbohydrates with a low glycemic index. He encourages grapefruit instead of orange juice and yams instead of white potatoes.

“The diet is the cornerstone to good health and we tailor make it for each individual and augment it with what will help each person achieve his or her goals,” Robinson said.

Dr. Robinson is  a fellow of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. He is a board certified and fellowship trained clinician specializing in pain management and non-operative spine care at Oklahoma Sports Science & Orthopedic Spine & Pain Management Center.

His office is at 3110 S.W. 89th St., Ste. 102, Oklahoma City. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 703-4950.
