Kimray Inc. awarded international quality system certification

OKLA. CITY — Kimray, an Oklahoma City-based manufacturer of oilfield equipment and controls, has been awarded the API Specification Q1 certification by the American Petroleum Institute, as well as the ISO/TS 29001:2007 certification by the International Organization for Standardization. Both certifications confirm that Kimray’s products and processes are of the highest quality. The national and international collection of standards is designed specifically for the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industry.

To receive the API Specification Q1 certification, Kimray met a series of standards that govern every aspect of the company’s management, design and manufacturing activities. By operating in conformance with these standards, Kimray has improved identifying customer requirements, designing and developing products, manufacturing products to specification and preventing potential problems.

The certification process required the implementation of procedural changes, training, increased documentation and adjustments to operating systems on every level of the manufacturing process. Kimray will be subject to an audit every six months to ensure ongoing compliance to standards of performance.

“ISO registration recognizes our efforts to provide the best possible product to our customers worldwide,” said David Hill, CEO of Kimray and an Edmond resident. “I want to commend our employees for their dedication and teamwork in achieving this goal.”

Founded in 1948 by Garman Kimmell, Kimray Inc. is an Oklahoma manufacturer of control valves and related equipment for oil and gas producing companies worldwide. Kimray uses iron, steel, aluminum and thermoplastic materials to build a comprehensive line of control valves, thermostats, energy-exchange glycol pumps, gas-operated pilots and other control devices.
