Greens celebrates 40th anniversary

Special to The Sun

EDMOND — The Greens Country Club 40th anniversary celebration took place over Labor Day weekend. The weekend was full of family activities and festivities that began on Aug. 31 and ran through Sept. 3.

Established in 1972 by local developer Tom Morris, the club has become one of the metro’s most family friendly country clubs. While the golf course, designed by golf architect Don Sechrest, and tennis facilities remain key features at The Greens, the club is constantly hosting a variety of social activities for its members.

Among some of the weekend’s celebratory events included The Nearly New Newlywed Game for couples, OU vs. UTEP poolside BBQ and watch party, $0.40 Sunday Breakfast Brunch in appreciation of member support during the past 40 years, and family pool events and games on Labor Day.
