EDMOND — If you want to create team uniforms or even a doctor’s lab jacket that is specialized and includes bling, Rookies will turn that want into a reality.

Rookies is a new uniform shop at 836 W. Danforth Road. Rookies opened in January and will work with customers to customize team uniforms, Polos, nursing scrubs and lab jackets. They provide work wear for business such as embroidered or screen printed Polos and T-shirts, long-sleeved shirts and other options. Rookies will make sales calls and bring samples and ideas to businesses. They offer express service for those projects that have a restricted timeline.

If you already have a design, Rookies can replicate it but Rookies also can collaborate with you to create a team logo and colors.

“I love working with kids. Organized sports are the pioneer passage to adulthood. A real bench mark in a child’s life,” owner Jami Snell said. The minimum order size at Rookies is four items. They have a seven-day turnaround period from the day an order is placed. Rookies is able to add bling to any shirt design or logo.

“Our goal is give great customer service, work together and be creative,” Snell said. Rookies embroider, Susie Hibbler, has been embroidering for 23 years and has worked in sporting goods for 36 years.

“I love getting to be creative and work with kids,” Hibbler said. “Kids get to feel special when they play in their customized uniform.” Rookies has an embroidery machine with 18 heads, two manual screen printing presses that will print numbers on a jersey, plus an automatic screen press that will screen print 800 shirts per hour. They can refresh screen printed items that have started to show their age.

“If you like old school jerseys we can do that, too with our tackle twill machine,” said Jana Beckley, team specialist. Rookies formed a partnership with Edmond All Sports Inc. because Snell and EASI Director Terri Jungles are personal friends. They now share the office space at Rookies’ Danforth location.

“It was just a good fit,” Snell said. “A one-stop for coaches, parents and athletes.”

Rookies is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointments on evenings and Saturdays. For more information, visit the store at 836 W. Danforth.
