RCB Bank plans Block Party, gives away car

Special to The Sun

EDMOND — Enjoy the smooth sounds of the UCO Jazz Lab while looking at cool classic cars during RCB Bank’s Block Party from 5-7 p.m. Sept. 10 at 909 W. Edmond Road. The event is open to the public.

Big Truck Tacos will be on site serving $3 special taco meals. Attendees also will have several chances to win a $50 On-Cue gift card.

“We’re giving away 24 $50 gift cards,” said Jim Gray, president, RCB Bank Edmond. “That’s a gift card every 5 minutes. We opened three new locations in Edmond this summer and the community support has been awesome. This is our way of saying thanks.”

The classic cars will be on display by local car clubs while the Sports Animal will be on hand from 2-6 p.m. doing a live remote with Jim Traber. Two bands from the UCO Jazz Lab also are scheduled to perform.

RCB Bank also will be giving away a new car to one of the 10 finalists chosen throughout the summer during its Car Giveaway Promotion in celebration of the new branches. At the Block Party, the finalists will pick a key and the person with the key that unlocks the door will drive home in a new 2012 CNG Honda Civic.

“We’ve been waiting all summer to give away this car,” Gray said.

The 10 finalists are: Brandon Avery of Lindsay, Brett Herrin, of Edmond; Jennifer Anderson, of Edmond, Steven T. Bradley, of Stillwater, Robert Marchant, of Oklahoma City, Mary Austin of Edmond, Rebecca Black, of Oklahoma City, Saundra Cobbs Wells, of Edmond, Nadine Dyess, of Stillwater, and Jennifer Jenkins of Edmond.

RCB Bank is an Oklahoma-owned community bank.

“We are eager to help our customers with their financial needs,” Gray said. “We also enjoy providing our customers with a little bit of fun too.” Gray said the block party may become an annual event at the bank.
