OKLA. CITY — TLC Garden Centers has been named a “Top 100 Independent Garden Center” by the Independent Garden Center organization.

TLC has been listed in the annual ICG 100 ranking every year since 1996. The newly released 2013 ranking lists TLC as 45th nationally. There are more than 13,000 independent garden centers in the U.S.

“TLC has a prominent history in the retail garden center industry and our continued success is testament to the dedication of our employees and the loyalty of our customers,” said Frank McDonald, owner of TLC.

The ICG 100 ranking is considered the “definitive benchmark” for identifying the top independent garden retailers in the U.S.

Established in 1980 by Charles and Linda Shackelford, TLC Garden Centers has grown to become the largest garden and landscape retailer in Oklahoma. TLC maintains a large inventory of seasonal flowers, shrubs, plants and trees at both of its metro area locations; 105 W. Memorial Road and 8208 N.W. Expressway. TLC houses a large production department that grows many of the plants sold in their stores and provides complete landscaping design and installation services.
