EDMOND —
The University of Central Oklahoma Career Services will host its annual fall Career and Internship Fair from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 22 in the Grand Ballroom of Central’s Nigh University Center.
Free and open to the public, the fair will feature various local and national organizations that will be on hand to discuss full-time employment, internship and graduate school opportunities. Professional attire (business casual or better) is required for entry.
“This is an effective and free way to connect with employers during the job search process,” said Beth Adele, director of Central’s Career Services.
“Not only will job seekers have the opportunity to connect with top companies that are seeking potential employees or interns, but businesses will be provided with a convenient way to recruit our students and members of the community.”
Nearly 40 organizations including AAA, Bank of Oklahoma Financial, Devon Energy, Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores, Oklahoma Christian University, University of Central Oklahoma Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Program, Target and Tinker Air Force Base (Civilian Employment) have already signed up for the event, and will have a booth at the fair to provide participants with more information about their organization’s opportunities.
Before Sept. 11, registration for Edmond Chamber of Commerce (ECC) members and government organizations is $250. Other businesses and organizations can register for $300, while nonprofit (501c3) organizations should contact Charles Sager, Central’s Employer Relations Coordinator, at 974-3951 for a discounted registration fee.
Beginning Sept. 11, there will be a $50 additional registration fee, and all businesses must register by Sept. 17 to participate.
Registration includes one six-foot display table with a tablecloth, validated parking for representatives, lunch in Central’s Hospitality Room, access to the Hospitality Lounge, electricity and wireless Internet access, and a link to company Web sites from www.careers.uco.edu and the HireBronchos.com database.
Businesses who want to register for the event should visit www.HireBronchos.com.
