World Religion Day celebration slated for Saturday

Special to The Sun

EDMOND — The Edmond Baha’i Community will present the Annual World Religion Day Celebration 4 p.m. Saturday. The event will be at the Edmond Baha’i Center at 321 E. Campbell Drive, just west of the UCO clock tower. The public is invited to this interfaith program.

Representatives from various religions will participate and offer prayers. The program also includes sacred writings of the world’s religions and live music by the Unity Ensemble of Oklahoma City.

The World Religion Day program has become a familiar community event in Edmond and the Oklahoma City metro area and continues to grow in bringing representatives of all religious organizations together.

The program will be about one and one-half hour long. Fellowship and a reception will follow the program.

The purpose of World Religion Day is to call attention to the harmony of spiritual principles and the oneness of the world’s religions, and to emphasize that understanding among the world’s religions is the motivating force for world unity.
