EDMOND — On the Oct. 10 episode of the CW television show “The Vampire Diaries,” you may have been paying attention to the plot.

But, Gari Anne Kosanke, a jewelry designer of 12 years, was looking at what jewelry actress Nina Dobrev was wearing during the show.

Earlier this year, Kosanke, who graduated from Edmond Memorial High School in 1978 and currently lives in Florida, became a member of The Artisan Group, “an elite group of talented artisans who collectively provide a sampling of handcrafted products to celebrities and members of the press at top celebrity gifting suites,” according to their Web site.

Much to her surprise after getting accepted, Kosanke said she received information this summer that Dobrev, who plays the character Elena Gilbert on “The Vampire Diaries,” would be wearing a pair of Kosanke’s “eternal reflection” earrings she designed, which are golden bronze dangle earrings with Swarovski crystals and sterling silver eternity links.

Throughout the episode titled “True Lies,” Kosanke said Dobrev can be seen wearing the earrings.

“It was real exciting,” Kosanke said. “You can see them off and on through the whole episode. It was pretty cool. Every day I wake up and sell stuff, but it’s still kind of nice to get some recognition.”

Kosanke, who’s maiden name is Ebert, said she has applied for her jewelry to also appear on the ABC television show “Scandal.”

Kosanke’s jewelry can be purchased online at or
